Engineering: Your Future!
For years 7 to 9 at the University of Surrey
11th September 2009 9am to 3pm
As part of this year’s Annual Conference at the University of Surrey, WES is hosting a parallel event for schools to provide a unique opportunity for students to meet professional engineers, learn about the range of work that they do and how their careers have developed.
FOR: groups of up to ten students, ideally from Years 7-9, with their STEM teacher for a day that will provide them with a true insight into the world of technology and engineering.
SPONSOR: Rolls-Royce and organised in collaboration with Surrey SATRO. The programme will include hands-on problem solving and exploring sessions:
- Rocket science and space by published author Dr Lucy Rogers
- Fast cars led by BLOODHOUND outreach manager Dawn Fitt
- CISCO technology and Microsoft Digigirlz workshops
- the opportunity to interview at least two women engineers about their career and life
