Programme highlights

Futurologist, Wendy Shultz will open this year’s WES conference by laying out the challenges facing engineers, scientists and technical leaders. She will explore the drivers for change and the power of change it the way we do things and how we respond.

Engineering’s past and future - Anecdotes, aspirations and attitude -
will be a lively look at how things have changed for women engineers. The session will offer an insight into the different work areas and technologies and explore how things have changed. Professor Maria Petrou of Imperial College will lead a conversation with Hilda Blount and Emily Spearman, 2008 winner of the WES Karen Burt Award.

Annette Williams, Director of the UK Resource Centre for Women in SET will speak on Saturday morning in a keynote address about the future for women in STEM.

Friday will focus largely on a technical programme.
